I listened to your podcast and found it deeply inspiring. I loved your take on showing up and the stories you shared about choosing to show up for your podcast, even when it would have been easier to delay.
Hit the nail on the head! Doing something because you said you would builds confidence in your ability in something you WANT to do BECAUSE you don’t HAVE to do it. Keep at it 🫶🏻
I´m doing this with my Tiktok, I started in February, and now I have over 400 videos. Showing up when my views are low, when my content doesn´t get pushed out to the for you page, when nobody likes what I talk about, but keep showing up anyway.
Thank you for showing your journey, that showing up counts, even when we don´t see it in the moment. 🩷💛
Cara! Apologies for a very late reply, I just came back from a biz trip. This is such a great question. I remind myself to trust the process, that as long as I'm creating something I'm 80% happy with every week, that I learn and become a little better with each episode or each newsletter, that I'm making progress and that's the validation I need. Also, imagine going viral now and out of nowhere having a large audience when I'm not great yet? So I remind myself that I get to learn and sharpen my skills in public :)
I'm glad you are still here. And I wish you the very best. I am trying to stay motivated myself. It's hard when barely anybody interacts with your content when you pour your heart and soul into it. But this is a slow burn. I like the note I read today that talked about how alot of people will think you are crazy for "writing into the void" and making so much content before you even monetize it. But eventually, while they are still hating their crappy jobs, you will be free, doing what you love. So keep at it, whether anyone shows up or not. Sooner or later, your efforts will pay off.
Thank you Steven and likewise! It is really hard to put so much of yourself in a piece to hear crickets once published but we've got to trust the process and keep going :)

Thank you so much for listening, and taking the time to send your note. I'm so happy it resonated :)
The self imposed standards deeply resonates with me— and every writer and artist I know! Thanks for writing about this.
Aww Ruth I’m so happy this resonated!!

That's so awesome Csilla! I am not on TikTik or I'd happily follow. Keep going!!❤️
Yes i will keep going. And now on Substack it feels refreshing, the vibes are calmer, cleaner, slower. 💛
But you care, you found your way, and pleasure in the process. Now celebrate the achievement. #consistency #deteremination #showUP
Thank you Aga! X
How do you sustain your inner motivation when external validation is missing?
