Day 2: Where Are You Actually At?
September Rentrée Series
🍂 Welcome to the September Rentrée!
Every weekday this month, you’ll get one bold, bite-sized piece to spark reflection, shift your habits, and help you design a life that feels good in real life.
1 month. 20 bold truths. A life-changing September.
In France, la rentrée (the return) is a national event. It’s about fresh routines, new ideas, and intentional renewal. And that’s exactly the energy we’re bringing here.
Most people try to change their habits without ever asking why it actually matters to them.
They jump straight into action: "I need to wake up earlier. Eat better. Exercise more."
But when your "why" is murky, your motivation fizzles real fast. "I just want to be healthier" won't get you out of bed when you're tired, stressed, or totally over it.
And you can't design a path forward if you don't know where you're starting from.
I saw a Note that illustrates this point:
The real question isn't "what should I change?". It's "why do I even want to change in the first place?”
Change sticks when it's tied to something deeper. Something personal. Something real.
You don't need more rules. You need clarity.
This isn't about getting it perfect. It's about reconnecting with the version of you that knows things could feel better than this.
So today's about getting honest with where you are. No judgement.
Here’s the real work: Why now? Why this? Why you?
Not where you think you should be. Not where you were last year. Where you are right now.
Then ask yourself: What's calling you forward? What would actually get you excited to wake up three months from now?
Because real change doesn't come from running away from yourself. It comes from designing toward what matters.
Your current reality isn't a limitation. It's your launchpad.
The habits that aren't working are not failures. They're feedback. The gap between where you are and where you want to be is not a flaw to fix. It's the space where your next chapter begins.
So before you design anything new, get honest about what's already here. What's working. What's not? What's draining you. What your gut is quietly whispering needs to change.
Your September redesign starts by telling yourself the truth about today.
Do this today: write five honest lines about energy, time, stress, support, constraints, circle one constraint to design around, remove one piece of friction for tomorrow morning.
Ask yourself: why now and why this, and what is already working that I can double down on for the next seven days?
The payoff: clarity creates momentum and reduces the need for willpower.
With love,
Noemie
BONUS: You have no idea how often clients are shocked when they can visually see how they see their life/wellbeing. It can help you realise that you're actually doing just fine, or that something actually really needs to change!
How to use the Wheel of Life:
Look at each section of the wheel (career, relationships, health, etc.)
Rate each area from 1-10 based on how satisfied you feel right now
1 = completely dissatisfied
10 = completely satisfied
Mark your score by drawing a line or dot on the spoke at your number
Connect all your marks to create your personal "wheel shape"
Step back and look at your wheel. What do you notice? Where are the gaps? What areas are thriving?
That's it! Your wheel shows you exactly where you are right now and highlights what might need attention.
